Background

FIT FOR FINALS is a complete fitness and preparation resource for coaches, allowing you to focus on the skills, game plan and player development necessary for ultimate success.

I developed the program based on my experience with local, VFL and AFL football clubs and drawing on my extensive studies in Applied Science, Education and Exercise for Rehabilitation.

The FIT FOR FINALS package includes all the necessary resources, information and guidance in one complete, easy to follow fitness and conditioning resource.

My experience

2002 : Assisted the High Performance Manager Collingwood Football Club over the pre-season.

2003 : Playing fitness coach, at Somerville Football Club in the Nepean division of the MPNFL. After completing a full pre-season under the FIT FOR FINALS key principles, Somerville won seven games (having won only one game the previous year). They progressed further in 2004 and 2005 seasons and in 2006 Somerville broke a long finals drought.

2007 : Fitness coach at Frankston Dolphins Football Club, (stand-alone non AFL-aligned club) in the VFL. In 2008, the Dolphins finished seventh, winning the first final against Coburg and coming agonisingly close to a preliminary final – losing by one point to Williamstown the following week. The Dolphins success in 2008 was considered a significant achievement and widely recognised by the VFL given its high number of local players on the list and its stand-alone status.

2010 : Fitness and Rehabilitation Coordinator at the St Kilda-aligned Sandringham Football Club. During this time, I also coordinated the conditioning programs for two local clubs, Frankston YCW (MPNFL) and Noble Park (EFL), both winning the 2010 premierships.

2011 : In my second year at Sandringham I assisted Chris Johnson (3 time Premiership player at the Brisbane Lions) as the Conditioning Coordinator for the World 18 team competing in the under 16 National Championship. I also managed the FIT FOR FINALS program for 6 local Victorian football clubs.

2012 : Moved to the Melbourne-aligned Casey Scorpions Football Club while coordinating the FIT FOR FINALS program for 10 local Victorian football clubs.

2014 : Returned to Sandringham FC as Fitness and Rehabilitation Coordinator, while overseeing the Dandenong Stingrays conditioning program in the TAC Cup.

2015/16 : Fitness and player wellbeing consultant with the Dandenong Stingrays, TAC Cup

2017 : Fitness Coach for the MPNFL Interleague team, who were aiming for number one ranked league in the state (playing the final on the “G”)
